Scams, spam messages, phishing and robocalls are becoming more common – and more convincing. This one-hour workshop offers clear, practical guidance on how to recognize and avoid common types of fraud, including:
Phishing emails
Robocalls
Imposter scams
Suspicious text messages
Consumer fraud
Attendees will learn how to protect personal information, block unwanted calls and texts, report scams and respond safely to potential threats.
Presented by Shannon Distel, a computer skills and digital literacy instructor at a Chicago non-profit. Shannon is a former librarian, trainer and administrator who has developed training programs and public workshops throughout her career.
