Scams, spam messages, phishing and robocalls are becoming more common—and more convincing. This one-hour workshop offers clear, practical guidance on how to recognize and avoid common types of fraud including

  • phishing emails'

  • robocalls

  • imposter scams

  • suspicious text messages

  • consumer fraud

Attendees will learn how to protect personal information, block unwanted calls and texts, report scams and respond safely to potential threats.

This free workshop is given by Shannon Distel, a Computer Skills/Digital Literacy Instructor at a non-profit in Chicago, and is designed to build technology confidence in a supportive learning environment that encourages questions and skill building.
