Cozy or Cluttered?

  • Edgewater Library 6000 N Broadway Chicago (map)

Tis the season when our thoughts turn inward to home and comfort. The time is ripe for rest, peace and the pleasure of an absorbing book, a great movie, warm drinks and that special throw wrapped around your legs. Hygge, the Danish art of Living Cozy, has captured our hearts with visions of warmth, friendships, nourishing food, and candlelight.

But WAIT! As you settle in for a relaxing afternoon or evening, your eyes wander to a pile of papers that need attention, a shelf of knickknacks that haven’t been dusted since Spring Cleaning 2025, that box of stuff that belongs to one of your adult kids. Suddenly, the Hygge moment is gone. You try not to care and promise yourself that someday very soon, you’ll get to all of it. Clutter sabotages happiness by making your stuff more important than the self-care of living with ease.

Let’s have a cozy conversation about the “Stuff of our Lives.” We’ll share strategies for making the “Fourth Quarter” more Hygge and less cluttered.

Hosted by Feng Shui practitioner Lyn Nené. She has studied with Feng Shui Masters from The Wind and Water School of Feng Shui as well as The Feng Shui Institute of America.
