Coffee & Conversation

  • Broadway Armory 5917 North Broadway Chicago, IL, 60660 United States (map)

Our coffee and conversations are in the Broadway Armory dining room and start at 9 a.m. Meet up with us there for lively exploration of each week’s topics. This week’s topics are:

1. Do Americans live in bubbles of religious, intellectual, and political conformity? Is a “bubble” also when your friends happen to vote the same way you do? Would the USA be better if fewer people were in such bubbles? Is it possible to prick a bubble? From within?

2. Vulnerability of the US satellite system to sabotage or accidents: to what extent is USA vulnerable? What remedial measures should USA consider?

Moderators will facilitate the discussion as the group explores interesting and sometimes controversial topics. Each week’s discussion is typically accompanied by some readings you’ll receive in advance via email. Topics for the subsequent week are decided at the previous discussion.

If you are interested in participating in our discussions but are not on our distribution list, send an email to John Williams and we will add you to the list.
